Objective

To teach basic concepts of sports physiology, to analyse body adaptation mechanisms and factors determining ability to work in different types of sports loads, to develop skills in determining and evaluating physiological indicators related to physical activity.

Prerequisites

Acquired knowledge of the structure of the human body, the functions of organs, characterisation of different stages of human age; ability to count heart rate and pulse, measure arterial blood pressure, determine static pulmonary volumes, measure maximum muscle strength; competences to evaluate blood composition, physiological indicators of cardiovascular, respiratory systems, isometric maximum strength, compare them with literature data.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Describe energy sources for muscle work under physical loads of varying lengths and intensities.

Skills

1.The physical performance of a person shall be determined by carrying out the load tests.

Competence
