Virtual workshops on equestrian sport and history

From October 2020 to May 2021, the Latvian Academy of Sport Education will organise a series of virtual workshops. During the workshops, 3-4 authors will present short papers followed by a discussion in which all participants are welcome to participate. The papers will be short and concise and may be based on research by both well-known and emerging scholars.
The workshops will take place once a month on Thursdays on Microsoft Teams. These workshops are open to all interested parties without prior registration.

- 19.11.2020 – Problems in the editing, translation and application of historical equestrian and horse breeding texts
- 17.12.2020 – A historical insight into the training of horses and riders
- 21.01.2021 – Women in equestrian sport
- 18.02.2021 – Gender stereotypes in equestrian sport. Men and their stallions
- 18.03.2021 – Riding and equestrian sport in art: problems and interpretations
- 22.04.2021 – Equestrian sport as a social phenomenon
- 20.05.2021 – Horses, riding and equestrian sport in classical literature
