Objective

To provide knowledge about the planning and development of social services based on evidence - based practice and the relationship between micro - macro level social work practice.

Prerequisites

Must know the Latvian social security system, as well as know the organization of social assistance and social services in the municipality.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.To formulate the social problem to be solved and to perform analyzes of the social problem; understand the importance of justification and evidence in the administration of social services and decision-making; to name and describe the essential elements of the social program and the components forming the framework of the social service. To analyze the compliance of social programs and social services with the set social policy goals and the social problem to be solved.

Skills

1.Obtain data on the needs of the target group on the basis of which to define the social problem to be solved and the goals and tasks of the social service / social program. Obtain and provide evidence of the client's material and social situation (micro level), as well as the results of the social service process and impact (output, outcome); to integrate knowledge of evidence-based social work practices into the development of social services.

Competence

1.Develop a description of the social service. Implement evidence-based practices in the development and administration of social services. To evaluate the process and results of social services.
