Objective

To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in psychotherapy, in accordance with the requirements of the regulations of the specialty of sexologist, sexopathologist, in order to prepare the doctor for certification in the specialty of sexologist, sexopathologist, in accordance with the regulatory documents of the Republic of Lithuania.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Demonstrates in-depth and extended knowledge and understanding of somatization, theories of somatization, mechanisms of somatization, meaning of symptom formation and etiopathogenesis from a psychodynamic perspective; peculiarities of collecting anamnesis morbi and anamnesis familiae in cases of sexual disorders; family/couple psychodynamic processes and types of relationships that provoke sexual disorders.

Skills

1.Performs clinical psychodynamic diagnosis of psychiatric and psychosomatic diseases; differentiates the norm from mental pathology, empathically and sensitively interviews psychotherapeutic patients; evaluates and plans the type of treatment of the patient (type of psychotherapy); is able to evaluate the mechanisms of somatization, the meaning of the symptom formation and etiopathogenesis from a psychodynamic point of view for a specific patient; family/couple psychodynamic processes and types of relationships that provoke sexual disorders in a specific patient. Able to collect anamnesis morbi and anamnesis familiae for the patient, taking into account his personality characteristics.

Competence

1.Apply the acquired knowledge, skills and attitude to therapeutic work, research activity, public educational work in the mass media, have an understanding of team (group) work, its functioning, psychodynamics, crisis situations, their resolution; psychodynamic processes in sexological patients. Plans, organizes and treats psychotherapeutic patient care; evaluation of treatment results. Follows the principles of medical deontology.
