About Study Course
Objective
To acquire knowledge of:
- definition criteria for cases of infectious diseases;
- objectives and tasks of epidemiological surveillance;
- early warning and response system in Latvia and Europe;
- infections related to healthcare, antibiotic resistance supervision system;
- epidemiological supervision of immunization programmes and vaccine-regulated infectious diseases;
- system of public health protection measures in Latvia and the world with danger degrees and levels.
Learning outcomes
1.During acquisition of the study course a medical obtain knowledge about:
definition criteria of the infectious disease cases;
- definition criteria for cases of infectious diseases;
- objectives and tasks of epidemiological surveillance;
- early warning and response system in Latvia and Europe;
- infections related to healthcare, antibiotic resistance supervision system;
- epidemiological supervision of immunization programmes and vaccine-regulated infectious diseases;
- system of public health protection measures in Latvia and the world with danger degrees and levels.
1.As a result of acquisition of the study course a medical resident will be able to work individually and in a team to solve problems and undergo:
- epidemiological surveillance;
- activities in the context of early warning and response system;
- perform epidemiological examination of infections related to healthcare, organise antibiotic resistance supervision;
- undergo epidemiological supervision of immunisation programmes and vaccine-regulated infectious diseases;
- implement public health protection measures according to the danger degrees and levels.
1.As a result of acquisition of the study course a medical resident will develop competence and will be able to individually perform:
- epidemiological surveillance;
- activities in the context of early warning and response system;
- perform epidemiological examination of infections related to healthcare, organise antibiotic resistance supervision;
- undergo epidemiological supervision of immunisation programmes and vaccine-regulated infectious diseases;
- implement public health protection measures according to the danger degrees and levels.
