Objective

To acquire knowledge about the aetiology, pathogenesis, clinical symptoms, laboratory diagnosis, differential diagnosis, principles of treatment and prevention of dangerous infectious diseases, legionellosis, helminthiasis, fungal, protozoan infections. To acquire knowledge about herpes virus infection and slow infections.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.During the time allotted for the study course, the medical resident acquires knowledge about the aetiology, pathogenesis, clinical symptoms, laboratory diagnosis, differential diagnosis, principles of treatment and prevention of dangerous infectious diseases, legionellosis, helminthiasis, fungal, protozoan infections. Acquires knowledge about herpes virus infection and slow infections.

Skills

1.As a result of completing the study course, the medical resident will know how to evaluate the patient’s condition, take anamnesis (epidemiological and pathological), know how to organise laboratory diagnosis, perform differential diagnosis, know how to carry out treatment and prevention.

Competence

1.As a result of successful completion of the study course, the medical resident achieves the mandatory competence of a certified public health physician, which allows to perform diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
