About Study Course
Objective
To provide students with opportunities to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge, to be able to help in emergency situations and do specialized conservative treatment in trauma patients.
Learning outcomes
1.a) Describe a certain trauma pattern, its clinical appearance, diagnostic methods and complications;
b) Name and describe treatment tactics of that trauma;
c) Describe certain trauma complications, treatment mistakes;
d) Describe the success of treatment methods.
1.Resident will be able to:
a) examine a patient with musculoskeletal trauma or disease;
b) evaluate radiological examinations;
c) do primary surgical wound closure, be able to close the wound;
d) do closed fracture and dislocation reduction, do correct immobilization;
e) put on skeletal traction device;
f) recognize different trauma complications;
g) do large joint and cavity puncture;
h) remove small benign soft tissue tumours.
1.Will use the knowledge in order to:
a) make precise diagnosis of pathology;
b) do correct interpretation of given data;
c) analyze treatment of certain trauma;
d) make a rehabilitation plan;
e) evaluate treatment results.
