The new Chair of the RSU Council, in his primary role, is the Chair of the Board of Ziemeļkurzeme Regional Hospital. He has extensive experience in finance both in public and private sectors. Upon taking position as Chair of the Council, Juris Lācis stated:

‘I am grateful for the support of my colleagues and honoured to take on the duties of Chair of the RSU Council.
