On 29 January, a meeting of Latvian partners of the EUCanScreen project (Joint Action for the Implementation of Cancer Screening Programmes) was held at the RSU Anatomy Museum. The event brought together representatives from Rīga Stradiņš University, the University of Latvia, the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital, and the Ministry of Health.

During the meeting, the partners presented their current and prospective involvement in the project, including their activities in thematic working groups focused on improving the accessibility and quality of cancer screening, strengthening communication, promoting informed choices, and developing personalised, evidence-based screening approaches.

Representatives of Rīga Stradiņš University are actively involved in various working groups of the EUCanScreen project, including improving the quality of screening communication and informational materials, developing informed choice and risk-based screening approaches, enhancing cervical cancer screening models, as well as strengthening the quality of colposcopy and specialist training at the European level.

The partner meeting confirmed the significance of close inter-institutional collaboration in achieving the project's goals, fostering knowledge exchange and ensuring a coordinated action for the development of high-quality and population targeted cancer screening programmes in Latvia and Europe.
