About Study Course
Objective
The course provides advanced knowledge of the diagnosis and management of pulpal and periapical diseases in children and develops the resident's practical skills in the endodontic treatment of primary teeth and permanent teeth with incomplete root development. Residents acquire an evidence-based understanding of the biological principles, indications, clinical techniques and outcome assessment of regenerative endodontic procedures, enabling them to select the most appropriate treatment strategy for each clinical situation and promote the long-term preservation of the tooth and surrounding tissues.
Learning outcomes
1.1. Acquire advanced knowledge of the diagnosis and management of pulpal and periapical diseases in children, including primary teeth and permanent teeth with incomplete root development.
2. Acquire knowledge of vital pulp therapy, apexogenesis, apexification, and the biological principles, indications, contraindications and clinical applications of regenerative endodontic procedures.
3. Acquire knowledge of the evaluation of regenerative endodontic treatment outcomes, long-term follow-up, and evidence-based clinical decision-making in paediatric endodontics.
1.1. Diagnose pulpal and periapical diseases in children and select the most appropriate treatment strategy for primary teeth and permanent teeth with incomplete root development.
2. Plan and perform vital pulp therapy, apexogenesis, apexification and regenerative endodontic procedures according to clinical indications and current clinical guidelines.
3. Evaluate treatment outcomes, interpret clinical and radiographic findings, and plan long-term follow-up following paediatric and regenerative endodontic treatment.
1.1. Integrate theoretical knowledge and practical skills to independently plan and perform paediatric endodontic treatment and the management of permanent teeth with incomplete root development in accordance with current scientific evidence and clinical guidelines.
2. Independently make clinical decisions in paediatric and regenerative endodontics by evaluating treatment indications, prognosis and long-term outcomes to optimise the preservation of the tooth and surrounding tissues.
