Interdisciplinary Aspects of Endodontics and Orthodontics (RED_040)
About Study Course
Objective
The course provides advanced knowledge of the interdisciplinary aspects of endodontics and orthodontics, developing the resident's ability to evaluate the effects of orthodontic treatment on the dental pulp, periapical tissues and root structures, plan endodontic treatment before, during and after orthodontic therapy, and make evidence-based clinical decisions in collaboration with orthodontists.
Learning outcomes
1.1. Acquire advanced knowledge of the effects of orthodontic treatment on the dental pulp, periapical tissues and root structures, as well as the principles of treatment planning for patients requiring both endodontic and orthodontic care.
2. Acquire knowledge of the indications, biological principles and clinical applications of orthodontic extrusion, as well as the diagnosis, prevention and management of orthodontically induced root resorption.
1.Assess the effects of orthodontic treatment on the dental pulp and periapical tissues, plan endodontic treatment and collaborate with orthodontists in determining the appropriate treatment sequence.
Recognise orthodontically induced root resorption, evaluate its prognosis, and select appropriate treatment and follow-up strategies according to the clinical situation.
1.Integrate theoretical knowledge and clinical skills to independently plan interdisciplinary endodontic and orthodontic treatment by evaluating treatment benefits, risks and long-term prognosis.
Independently make evidence-based clinical decisions in complex clinical situations through effective collaboration with orthodontists to achieve optimal treatment outcomes.
