Requirements for English Proficiency

All applicants must demonstrate their English language proficiency at a B2 level or higher. If you are submitting an internationally recognised English proficiency test (see the accepted list below), the results must have been issued within the last 5 years.

If you obtained your secondary education in an EU/EEA country or Switzerland, you can prove your English proficiency using the English grade on your secondary education transcript. This applies if you studied English for at least 2 semesters and your final grade corresponds to at least a B2 level. If your grade does not meet this requirement, an official English proficiency test result must be submitted.

Applicants who are citizens of non-EU/EEA/Swiss countries must submit official results of an internationally recognised English proficiency test. You are only exempt from this requirement if you meet the specific exemption listed above, or if you hold specific, internationally recognised secondary education qualifications (such as an IB Diploma or A-levels). RSU cannot process applications from non-EU/EEA citizens without valid proof of English proficiency.

You do not need to submit an international English proficiency test result if you completed your previous secondary or higher education fully in English in Australia, the Bahamas, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the United Kingdom, or the United States. You are also exempt if you completed your secondary education under an International Baccalaureate (IB), A-Level, or US curriculum.
