The RSU Department of Anaesthesiology and Reanimatology welcomes students to a series of guest lectures by visiting Professor Jonas Åkeson (Sweden), MD, PhD, EDAIC, ETP Professor/Senior Consultant in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at Lund University.
Students, especially 5th year students and residents from the Faculty of Medicine, as well as lecturers and others who are interested are welcome to the Hippocrates Auditorium at RSU (16 Dzirciema Iela) to the following lectures on 11 and 12 September.
11 September
- 16:00–17:30 – Emergency drugs – clinical indications, mechanisms of action, effects and adverse effects
- 17:45–19:15 – Oxygenation and acid-base balance – pathophysiology and clinical management
12 September
- 16:00–17:30 – Fighting for survival – on strategies to defend our medical specialty
- 17:45–19:15 – Ketamine – mechanisms, current practice and emerging concepts
