Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), Department of Orthopaedics Visiting Professor Alexander Lerner, will give the following lectures on 19 September 2025 at 14:00 in Barona lecture room, 16 Dzirciema iela:
- Orthopaedic damage control in severe trauma patients
- Mangled extremity: limb salvage vs amputation
About the lecturer
Alexander Lerner is a professor of orthopaedics at the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine, Bar-Ilan University and Ziv Medical Center. He is one of the world's most prominent orthopaedic surgeons with many years of experience in the treatment of severe limb injuries and reconstructive surgery, including those caused by armed conflicts.
He is a member of the AO Foundation (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen), an international working group for bone fusion issues, and is the author and co-author of numerous international publications and five books.
The RSU Department of Orthopaedics has a long-standing cooperation with Prof. Lerner.
