This Saturday, 19 May Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) will participate in Pārdaugava Festival that is traditionally held in Arcadia Park. At the open-air festival RSU will be represented by its aesthetic group gymnastics team, the winner of many international and local contests. 

The storytelling initiative: They create Pārdaugava, a collection of stories about outstanding personalities of the Left Bank of the River Daugava will also include a story about Pauls Stradiņš whose contribution to the development of research and medicine is closely linked to Pārdaugava.

The submitted stories will be presented at a special exhibition at Arcadia Park and made available on the Festival's website (in Latvian) and also on Facebook.

The RSU aesthetic group gymnastics team Amber Soul will be part of the Family Concert programme and will perform on the big stage at 16:00.

This is the 9th year of the Pārdaugava Festival which is one of the biggest events on this side of Rīga, bringing together sports, education and culture institutions and organisations and the most active businesses located on the left bank of the river.  This year, when Latvia is celebrating its 100th anniversary, to reflect the main message of the centenary celebrations “I am Latvia”, the motto of the Festival has been chosen to be “I am Pārdaugava”.
