Participants will have the opportunity to turn their business ideas in the field of medical technologies into tangible prototypes with the potential of becoming competitive companies. At the pre-accelerator they will be working in close cooperation with industry experts, start-ups, and the academic sector. Being an innovation partner, LMT will not only be involved in developing and mentoring the participants, but will also provide EUR 25,000 for the creation of prototypes.

The pre-accelerator programme is open to bachelors, masters, and doctoral students from a variety of disciplines.

The programme will be implemented in three phases:

  1. The educational phase will give participants an insight into entrepreneurship and medicine and how these two fields can be combined. This phase will start on 24 January with the first webinar and will end with a think-tank to create solutions for challenges proposed by the programme’s industry partners.
  2. In the testing and development phase, teams will work with mentors on technology and business. They will co-develop solutions and provide financial support for creating prototypes. There will be workshops on value proposition, business models, experimentation, market readiness, and other relevant topics according to the teams’ needs.
  3. The programme will conclude with the validation phase. Here, the teams will present their product to a panel of judges who will assess the value and prototype. The teams will be introduced to the next steps they need to take, to existing support programmes, and incubators to further develop and implement their idea.

In the run-up to the Healthtech pre-accelerator programme, all interested parties will have the opportunity to attend two webinars. Here they will learn more about the programme, the support available to build solutions, and hear the experiences of previous Healthtech start-ups:

  • 1st webinar
    24 January, at 16:00 – 18:00
  • 2nd webinar
    26 January, at 16:00 – 18:00
