On 6 March 2026, Career Day 2026 will take place at the BT1 International Exhibition Centre on Ķīpsala. This is a significant career guidance event, which is being organised for the first time by Riga Technical University (RTU), Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), and Riga Business School (RBS). The event, which will take place from 10:00 to 16:00, will welcome students, graduates, as well as companies and organisations from various fields.
Well-being as a central theme in careers today
Career Day 2026 is dedicated to wellbeing at work and in the workplace, emphasising the importance of emotional, social and professional balance in building a modern career.
During the event, visitors will have the opportunity to meet employers in person at company stands, learn about internship and employment opportunities, and participate in discussions with industry experts, employers, and university graduates about trends in the labour market, professional growth challenges, and aspects of wellbeing in today’s work environment.
RSU Lifelong Learning Center offering
Representatives from the RSU Lifelong Learning Centre will also be participating at the event. The Centre will offer information about diverse opportunities for professional and personal growth in the fields of healthcare, sports, social sciences and law. The Centre offers courses, seminars, master classes and conferences, developed in collaboration with industry professionals and academic experts.

Employers from the healthcare sector and other industries
In collaboration with RSU, the medical field is represented in the Career Day programme for the first time this year. Several major employers have already confirmed their participation in Career Day, including representatives from the healthcare sector – VSIA Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital, SIA Dziedniecība (MFD Health Group) and AS Veselības centru apvienība. Companies and institutions from other sectors will also participate in the event, such as Schneider Electric, Corporate Solutions, Tet, LMT, the State Land Service, the Latvia State Radio and Television Centre, the National Armed Forces and AAS BALTA.
Employers will represent various industries and will be interested in talking to students with different experiences, offering internships, jobs, and professional development opportunities.
Discussion on well-being and career
A special highlight of the Career Day programme is the discussion “Well-being as the new career currency”, which will take place at 14:00 and is organised with significant involvement from RSU. The discussion will be moderated by RSU Career Development Facilitator and Board Member of the Latvian Career Development Support Association, Ilze Ušacka-Priekule, emphasising the university's professional expertise in career development and well-being.
The conversation will feature labour market and youth employment experts – Gustavs Mārtiņš Upmanis (Visas Iespējas, Darbe.lv), Kristaps Kolosovs (CVMarket.lv), as well as young-generation professional Keita Nikola Rasa and a representative of Veselības centru apvienība. The discussion will explore how mental health, emotional balance, and organisational culture are becoming strategic advantages for both employees and employers.
