This was the first meeting between the University’s management and the new chair of the Association’s board, Artūrs Bērziņš, and board members Daina Mūrmane-Umbraško and Marita Zeltiņa. The new board and its chair were elected at the Association’s general meeting in Aizkraukle on 26 March 2026.

During the meeting, participants discussed ways to facilitate placements for RSU students at regional healthcare institutions. Strengthening cooperation with hospitals would expand opportunities for students to gain practical experience outside Riga and foster closer links between the University and healthcare institutions across the regions.

The LHA represents 38 healthcare institutions, including most providers of inpatient healthcare services in Latvia.
