The third EECA INTERACT Workshop was held in Rīga on 13 and 14 December 2022. The event was convened by the Rīga Stradiņš University Institute of Public Health, the Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development (AIGHD) and AFEW International. EECA INTERACT is a scientific workshop on HIV, Hepatitis C and Tuberculosis in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, which aims to build capacity as well as strengthen research and clinical networks.

EECA INTERACT 2022 was attended by 106 scientists, clinicians, NGO delegates, civil society representatives, and policymakers from 28 different countries. Overall, 70 abstracts were submitted. 38 speakers and co-chairs reflected on their experience and research results and a further 26 abstracts were presented in a form of posters. The workshop focused on service integration, surveillance, innovative adaptations to service delivery in the region, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on regional HIV, TB, and hepatitis services. Throughout, the conference addressed the impact of the war in Ukraine on health and the implications of the refugee crisis across Europe.

The next EECA INTERACT Conference is scheduled to take place on 14 December 2023 in the form of a virtual webinar. Meanwhile, the fifth edition for 2024 will be a face-to-face meeting in a country within the EECA region.
