Objective

Promote students’ understanding of the use of evidence-based methods in rehabilitation with children and young people, investigation of paediatric patients and therapy planning in the context of SFK within the framework of a multidisciplinary approach.

Prerequisites

General basic knowledge in medical rehabilitation and understanding of the child's normal and pathological development. English language skills (must be able to read and analyze scientific literature).

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of the concept of evidence-based practice in the practice of a rehabilitation specialist in pediatrics, the application of the ICF concept in patient examination and treatment planning.

Skills

1.Able to formulate a research question, conduct information searches, critically analyse and evaluate the level of evidence.

Competence

1.Apply synthesis of experience, knowledge and scientific evidence in rehabilitation specialist practice. Planning of continuity research in pediatric rehabilitation services and interdisciplinar cooperation to support social and medical rehabilitation for children with functional disorders, including transition to the adult life.
