EATRIS representatives visit RSU
Representatives from EATRIS (The European Advanced Translational Research Infrastructure in Medicine) visited Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) on 1 - 2 October. EATRIS is part of the European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC) that brings together European countries with the aim of speeding up development of new medicines and diagnostic methods by fostering access to a modern, trans-European infrastructure.

EATRIS Operations and Finance Director, Anton Ussi, and Scientific Director, Antonio L. Andreu, spoke about the consortium’s activities and the opportunities Latvia has to get involved. They visited RSU research institutes and laboratories as well as the University of Latvia, and the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis and the Latvian Biomedical Research and Studies Centre.
EATRIS has developed an e-learning platform to support biomedical researchers and to gain a better understanding of the development of translational research and medicines. The platform offers access to several online activities free of charge.
