RSU Faculty of Law Expands International Cooperation
In the spring of this year, the Latvian State Police and Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in science and research within the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL).
According to this agreement, RSU undertook to act as CEPOL's Research & Science Correspondent, delegating a contact person to ensure cooperation and participate in correspondent meetings at CEPOL's headquarters in Budapest, online meetings, as well as other activities in accordance with CEPOL's work plan and funding provided by CEPOL to cover travel expenses. The RSU Faculty of Law is responsible for carrying out these duties.
On 8-10 June, the annual CEPOL conference Preparing Law Enforcement for the Digital Age was held at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius, with the participation of the Latvian delegation with representatives from the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Latvia, the State Police College, the State Border Guard College, and the RSU Faculty of Law (represented by Dean Jānis Grasis and Lecturer Ilze Bērziņa).
Topical issues related to the application of digital skills both in the training and research process and in professional activity were discussed at the conference. Representatives from the RSU Faculty of Law discussed cooperation opportunities with colleagues from France, Lithuania, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Portugal, Austria, and other countries.
