Social Sciences Research Centre
The Social Sciences Research Centre at RSU advances cutting-edge research to address the profound social, political, and economic challenges facing Latvia, Europe, and beyond through excellence in collaborative, transdisciplinary social science.
Our researchers are nationally and internationally recognised collaborators in three strategic and interconnected research areas: health, environment, and security. Our expertise spans across the Baltics, the European Union and its neighbouring countries, and East and Central Asia.
Our team fosters a research culture built on integrity, inclusivity, and collaboration across disciplines, institutions, and sectors. We prioritise openness and responsibility, ensuring our findings and data are shared widely and used meaningfully.
As the main support hub for social science research at RSU, the Social Sciences Research Centre supports the full research cycle – from initial design and methodological guidance to sharing results and maximising their impact.
