Requirements
- Internationally recognised scientific activity and impact in the professional field
- Internationally recognised research activities (scientific publications published in international peer-reviewed journals in the last 5 years)
- Doctoral degree
- At least 5 years' experience in academic work
- At least 3 years' experience in a managerial position
- Knowledge of the legislation governing higher education institutions
- Strategic thinking, ability to set and implement priorities
- Excellent oral and written knowledge and skills of Latvian and English
- Excellent communication, reasoning and cooperation skills, including with international partners
- Good digital skills
Responsibilities
- Implement health study and research processes at the University in line with the University’s development strategy, adequately monitor and ensure the achievement of performance goals and performance indicators, taking into account current industry trends and technological advances
- Monitor and ensure the quality, sustainability and competitiveness of the study programmes implemented in the Healthcare direction
- Advance and supervise the introduction of modern approaches to academic work in health studies, including simulation-based studies and digitisation
- Promote cooperation with industry and develop processes for the involvement of companies in the University study process and in the financing of studies
- Oversee and facilitate the development of the University’s clinical base networks in Latvia and internationally
- Promote cooperation with local and international partners
- Develop the implementation of lifelong learning healthcare programmes at the University
- Manage the departments under their authority
