Objective

To provide students with the theoretical education and acquisition of practical skills necessary in the practice of a physiotherapist, working with patients who have mobility and support system injuries or their consequences.

Prerequisites

Good knowledge in anatomy and physiology, basic knowledge in medical terminology, neurology and radiology imaging

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.on the most common traumatic damage to the motion support system in medical practice, in order to recognise and describe the types of injuries most common to bones, joints and soft tissues, to understand their causes and ethiopatogenesis; explain and justify the basic principles of diagnosis and treatment; list adverse reactions; assess the forecast.

Skills

1.1. to collect the patient’s history;
2. to carry out investigations for persons with mobility and support system injuries and their consequences:
Front and back “drawer” test check; Lahman test check; piano key symptom check, Thompson test check; patella balloting symptom check,
3. to focus on radiological examinations,
4. to recognise the most frequent types of traumatic limb damage when making a diagnosis;

Competence

1.1. to carry out independent work with trauma patients by participating in their rehabilitation,
2. draw up a physiotherapy plan
3. anticipate potential rehabilitation problems and correctly achieve the therapeutic objective of various traumatic damage to the bones and joints
