Objective

Promote students’ understanding of sport and health-enhancing physical activities, the fundamentals of long-term training process design, types of preparation, the theory of physical qualities, and the development of physical qualities in sport.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of anatomy of the active and passive components of the musculoskeletal system and the principles of their functioning; modes of muscle action and muscle contraction; knowledge of biochemistry related to ATP resynthesis; and knowledge of physiology concerning brain function and motor innervation.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.In the independent assignment, students identify the role and recommended volume of sport and physical activity in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and supporting the sports training process.

Skills

1.Knows how to apply the volume-intensity ratio in planning of the training process

Competence

1.Able to develp types, components and forms of expression of physical abilities according to sport, training period, age and level of conditioning
