About Study Course
Objective
Provide theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of paediatric abdominal surgery and oncology required for working in a multidisciplinary team of paediatric gastroenterologists and paediatric surgeons. Recognise and timely diagnose acute diseases of the abdominal organs in children, as well as familiarise themselves with the surgical aspects of the treatment of chronic gastrointestinal diseases.
Learning outcomes
1.Recognise the symptoms of acute abdominal surgical diseases and organize the necessary diagnostics and surgical assistance. Evaluate the possibilities and application of surgical methods for the treatment of acute and chronic gastrointestinal diseases. Outline indications and prerequisites for diagnostic laparoscopy.
1.To be able to properly identify indications for diagnostic procedures and manipulations in paediatric abdominal surgery and in patients with gastrointestinal diseases, as well as to assess the risk factors for manipulation; communication with patients, parents and colleagues also in difficult and acute situations. Ability to attract paediatric surgeons in a timely manner to treat acute and chronic gastrointestinal diseases.
1.Organise and plan interdisciplinary care for patients with gastrointestinal diseases together with paediatric surgeons.
