About Study Course
Objective
To acquire the knowledge and practical skills that are necessary for the speech therapy and the profession of Speech therapist on voice disorders in children and adults. Based on a research - based approach, be able to audit and explore the possibilities of voice function, analyze them, and integrate the results to plan voice therapy according to the types of voice disorders and the level of individual functioning of each person within the competence of the Speech therapist. To promote scientific research work within the study course.
Prerequisites
Normal physiology and neurophysiology. Otolaryngologists for Speech therapist.
Learning outcomes
1.• will be able to navigate the voice apparatus structure and to set out the functions of voice formation and characteristics;
• will know to name voice acoustic parameters, to tell about their role in the formation of the voice;
• will be able to recognize and appreciate the voice disorder etiology and pathogenesis;
• will be able to name voice disorder classifications;
• be able to formulate and apply voice disorders correction methods and directions;
• manages preventive measures to reduces voice disorders.
1.• will be able to aurally assess the criteria of voice function, within the competence of the audiologist;
• will know how to use a correct, evidence-based method of voice therapy, using appropriate supplements;
• will be able to explain the importance and basics of voice prevention and hygiene;
• will be able to analyze, plan and integrate the results of voice development, improvement and other relevant information to determine intervention goals.
1.As a result of successful completion of the study course, students will be able to practically use the acquired knowledge and skills in the evaluation of voice function disorders as a primary disease, and also in the planning of treatment of voice disorders as secondary phenomena of other types of diseases. Based on the analysis of the information obtained from the anamnesis and auditory data, while respecting the patient's individual level of functioning, I will plan the goals of my activity and their realization.
