About Study Course
Objective
To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills according to the requirements of the specialty of a geriatrician and related to surgical diseases in geriatric patients.
Learning outcomes
1.- The most common surgical pathology in the elderly.
-Acute situations related to surgical pathology in old age. Risks, their prevention. Possible surgical help for the elderly.
-Sleeps. Chronic ulcers.
-Risk assessment in case of surgical and invasive manipulations. Pre- and post-operative care. Boil patient.
1.-Recognition of possible surgical pathology, identification of symptoms and syndromes,
-Interpretation of physical examination and tests,
-Appropriate assessment of an acute surgical situation.
-Drawing up of a treatment plan for chronic ulcers, bedsores.
-Selection of the most suitable treatment method in case of chronic ulcers.
1.-Able to recognise acute surgical pathology in the elderly.
-Interpret and analyse the obtained data in acute situations related to surgical pathology.
-Able to identify bedsore risks and prescribe preventive measures in elderly and fragile patients.
