Objective
To get resident ready for selecting an approach to congenital heart diseases diagnosis and treatment, as well as to perform uncomplicated cardiac surgery.
Learning outcomes
Knowledge
1.Knowledge of congenital heart anomalies and diseases, indications for syrgery and surgical options, postoperative period management.
Skills
1.• to diagnose congenital heart diseases and to set indications for surgery;
• to be able to assist in congenital heart disease correction;
• to be able to perform definite congenital heart diseases unassisted corrections (0-1).
Competence
1.To provide first aid in accordance with the requirements of the Cabinet of Ministers of Latvia, the Ministry of Health and the Association of Cardiac Surgeons.
