Objective

To acquire basics of immunology, basics of specific immunity development, incl. in children.
Vaccine classification. Organisation of the vaccination process, vaccination of children. Knowledge improvement about etiology, pathogenesis, diagnostics, prevention and basic treatment principles of URI, SARS, MERS, vaccine-regulated infections, viral hepatitis, zoonotic infection, HIV/AIDS etc.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.During acquisition of the study course a medical resident obtains knowledge about the basics of specific immunity development, incl. in children.
About vaccine classification, vaccine composition, vaccine efficiency. Organisation of the vaccination process, incl. vaccination of children. Acquire and improve knowledge about etiology, pathogenesis, diagnostics, prevention and basic treatment principles of URI, SARS, MERS, vaccine-regulated infections, viral hepatitis, zoonotic infection, HIV/AIDS etc.

Skills

1.As a result of acquisition of the study course a medical resident will be able to assess specific immunity test results, evaluate planning of vaccination and will be able to use the acquired knowledge in diagnostics, treatment and prevention of the aforementioned infections.

Competence

1.As a result of successful acquisition of the study course a medical resident will acquire competence to individually or under the supervision of a specialist to perform examination of a patient to set a diagnosis and start treatment.
