About Study Course
Objective
To provide improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills on spinal injuries and orthopaedic diseases necessary for practical work in the speciality of a traumatologist and orthopaedist.
Learning outcomes
1.Using the knowledge acquired, students will be able to:
a) describe the types of spinal injuries, their diagnosis, course and methods of treatment,
b) differentiate and describe spinal disorders, their aetiopathogenesis, diagnosis, course and methods of treatment,
c) explain the rehabilitation tasks of patients after injuries,
d) describe and explain the care of spinal patients.
1.Skills acquired:
a) to provide emergency care and transport a patient with a spinal injury,
b) to perform a detailed, focused examination of a patient with a spinal injury or disease,
c) to interpret examination data (clinical tests, radiological examinations, histological and microbiological examinations, etc.)
d) to orient and prescribe a treatment appropriate to the pathology,
e) to apply conservative and surgical methods of treatment,
f) to orient and prescribe appropriate rehabilitation therapy and care.
1.Using knowledge, will be able to:
a) formulate a diagnosis,
b) make a differential diagnosis,
c) develop a detailed treatment plan,
d) design a rehabilitation and care programme,
e) predict the course, outcome and ability to work.
