Objective

The aim of the study course is to develop the student's ability to explain the structure and functions of the human body in an integrated way, to analyse the impact of human movement and sports training, as well as to use medical Latin terminology and basic methods of physiological and biomechanical research in further professional studies.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of biology, physics and chemistry is required, including the structure and function of the human body, the relationship between movement and force, and metabolism and energy exchange. The student must be able to interpret simple diagrams and graphs, perform basic calculations and use English to study literature.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Describe the passive and active locomotor apparatus: the skeleton (bones of the trunk and limbs, ligaments, joints) and the skeletal muscles (muscles of the trunk and limbs, their attachments and functions); the structure and basic functions of the heart and circulatory system and the nervous system.

Skills

1.Show muscles, bones, parts of the brain, etc. on mulages, anatomical preparations, and posters.

Competence

1.Analyze muscle action in basic movements and in various sports movements: in which joints, which muscles and in what order do they work.
