RSU Foundation gathers supporters at appreciation event at the Anatomy Museum
On the afternoon of 25 June, the Rīga Stradiņs University (RSU) Anatomy Museum hosted an event organised by the RSU Foundation to thank current and future supporters and benefactors for their contribution to the development of the University.
The event was attended by RSU management, the Foundation's cooperation partners and benefactors, including representatives of the Vītols Foundation and the Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation.
The opening address was given by RSU Rector Prof. Aigars Pētersons, who spoke about the development directions of the University, the trends in the student population and the latest news about the University’s study programmes. The use of simulations in the study process and the introduction of a military course of study were particularly highlighted.
The Rector expressed his sincere gratitude to the supporters for their contribution so far and looked forward to further cooperation.
The RSU Foundation, established in 2011 and celebrating its 14th anniversary this year, provides significant support for education and science, cultural and sporting events, as well as social initiatives. Over the years, supporters have included the Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation, the Vītols Foundation, as well as private donors, including RSU Honorary Doctor Egils Gulbis, the company Mikrotik and others.
Laila Kundziņa, Executive Director of the RSU Foundation, pointed out that the scholarships established by the Foundation promote students' excellence and the development of research. ‘The patrons’ scholarships are not only an honour for the students, but also an essential support that allows them to fully concentrate on their studies. Donations enable researchers not only to continue their projects, but also to dare to pursue new ideas. This support improves the quality of the learning environment and creates favourable conditions for the growth of research.’
At the end of the event, guests had the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the RSU Anatomy Museum led by Ieva Lībiete, learning about the museum's unique and educational exhibition.
