Researcher (Natural sciences)

RSU invites a Researcher (natural sciences) to join its team at the Institute of Microbiology and Virology, to work in the group of a tenured professor.

Work Location: Rīga Stradiņš University, Rātsupītes iela 5, Riga, Latvia

Employment contract: Fixed-term employment contract for two years, renewable based on positive performance evaluation

What we expect

• Doctoral or Master’s degree in the natural sciences or in a related field
• Experience with techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry, and immunology
• Experience with fluorescence microscopy and other imaging methods is desirable
• Preference will be given to candidates with prior and proven experience in immunoglobulin purification and characterization, protein biochemistry, as well as in working with mammalian cell cultures and mitochondrial biology
• Ability to plan and carry out experiments independently
• Excellent knowledge of English
• Ability to work in a team, with strong communication and collaboration skills
• Initiative and a strong sense of responsibility in performing professional tasks

Everyday work

• Planning and running experiments
• Processing, analysis, and interpretation of obtained results
• Participation in developing and maintenance of laboratory infrastructure
• Active involvement in scientific discussions and teamwork
• Preparation of scientific publications
• Participation in the development of research projects and preparation of funding applications
