Your arrival guide to Riga and RSU
First steps after landing in Riga
For most RSU international students the arrival at Riga International Airport for the Welcome Week in late August or late January is their very first visit to Riga and Latvia. Knowing that it is sometimes challenging to understand how different cities function and what are the general unwritten rules, we have prepared a short overview of how you can easily get to Riga city centre and after that to the RSU main building at 16 Dzirciema iela. Please see and follow the instructions given below.
- Airport → City centre
Riga International Airport (RIX) is located 10 km from the city centre. To get from the airport to the city centre, you have three options:
- Take Rigas Satiksme Bus 22, which has direct line from the airport to the Riga city centre.
- The bus leaves every 10-30 minutes depending on the time of day.
- The trip takes around 30 minutes to the city centre.
- You can buy a ticket form the driver for EUR 1.81 (ONLY card payments are accepted).
- Taxis available at the Arrivals. Prices to the Riga city centre vary from EUR 15 to EUR 30. In order to ensure safe and effortless trip, please see Taxi service section of the Riga Airport website.
- Take Rigas Satiksme Bus 22, which has direct line from the airport to the Riga city centre.
- Airport → RSU
Riga International Airport (RIX) is located 8.5 km from Rīga Stradiņš University (see route on Google maps).
To get from the airport to RSU we recommend taking a taxi. The ride should cost anywhere between EUR 10.00 and EUR 20.00.
- City centre → RSU
The RSU Main Building is located in Riga at 16 Dzirciema iela.
