Scholarships available for RSU students from Jelgava, Salaspils, and Valka
First-year bachelor’s students from all fields of study whose declared place of residence is in Jelgava, Salaspils, or Valka municipalities are eligible to apply for the Regional Scholarships. Nursing master’s students with a declared residence in these municipalities may apply for the Rūšu Family Scholarship. Scholarships of up to EUR 2,500 per academic year are available to dedicated, successful, and socially active students with a weighted average grade above 7.5.
Students declared in Jelgava municipality can apply for the Jelgava Regional Scholarship. The scholarship amount is EUR 2,000 per academic year and is awarded to three students. The scholarship is maintained throughout the entire undergraduate study period.
The Salaspils Regional Scholarship, amounting to EUR 1,500 per academic year, is also awarded for the full duration of undergraduate studies and is available to students declared in Salaspils municipality. A total of two scholarships are awarded.
The Valka Regional Scholarship is EUR 1,500 per academic year and is awarded to one graduate of Valka’s Jānis Cimze Gymnasium.
The Rūšu Family Scholarship is intended for master’s students in the Nursing program. The scholarship amount is EUR 2,500 per academic year.
Applications for the first-year bachelor’s scholarships are open until 28 August
Nursing students will be able to apply for the Rūšu Family Scholarship in September via the University of Latvia (LU) Foundation website.
To apply, you will need to submit:
- a CV,
- an essay on the topic “Philanthropy in Latvia,”
- and two letters of recommendation.
