Aim

The aim of the project is to improve research infrastructure to promote innovation development in RSU RIS3 specialization areas by investing in basic open shared and service infrastructures.

Description

Within the project scientific equipment and devices will be purchased to ensure the development of the directions set out in the RSU development strategy.

The following activities will be implemented within the project:

  1. Development of research infrastructure at the Institute of Microbiology and Virology (MVI) and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Environmental Health (DDVVI) of the Science Centre at Rātsupītes Street 5, Rīga;
  2. Development of research infrastructure at the Institute of Oncology and Molecular Genetics (OMĢI) of the Science Centre at Pilsoņu Street 13 k-13, Rīga;
  3. Development of research infrastructure at the Laboratory of Finished Dosage Forms (GZFL) of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Konsula Street 21, Rīga;
  4. Communication and visual identity requirements will be ensured.

As a result of the project implementation, it is planned to achieve the following by December 31, 2029:

  • at least 60 researchers working in supported research facilities in terms of full-time equivalent (PLE);
  • the nominal value of RSU research and innovation equipment of at least EUR 2'446'530;
  • funding obtained through RSU research and development contracts and intellectual property rights transfers, as well as funding obtained through international research and development tenders for research and development projects of at least EUR 9'832'521.

Results

On 27 August 2025, Agreement No. 1.1.1.2/1/25/I/007 was signed with CFLA for the implementation of the project.

Progress during the period: 01.08.2025. – 31.10.2025.
  • On 6 August 2025 procurement No. RSU 2025/143/AK “Purchase of spectral cell sorting equipment” was announced, opening of bids took place on 25 August 2025. On 30 September 2025 contract No. 3-L-1/812/2025 with SIA "Interlux" was signed for the supply, installation and training of spectral cell sorting equipment.
  • On 12 September 2025 contract No. 3-L-1/764/2025 with UAB “Novatex” was concluded for the supply and installation of stationary monitor for hand, feet and clothing α-, β/γ- radioactive contamination.
  • On 9 September 2025 contract No. 3-L-1/741/2025 with SIA “Arbor Medical Korporācija” was signed for the supply and installation of portable γ-radiation radiometers.
  • On 11 September 2025 contract No. 3-L-1/753/2025 with UAB “Novatex” was concluded for the supply and installation of portable monitors for surface radioactive contamination.
  • On 9 September 2025 General Agreement No. 3-L-1/735/2025 with SIA “Biosan” and SIA “Santaks” was concluded for the purchase of small laboratory inventory.
  • On 10 October 2025 consultation with suppliers No. RSU 2025/178/AK_AP “Purchase of various scientific equipment and devices and provision of equipment and devices for scientific research activities - 1st round” was announced, which expired on 24 October 2025.
  • Durable plaques clearly visible to the public (4 pieces) have been installed at all project implementation places in accordance with the Communication and Design Guidelines of the EU Funds 2021-2027 and the Recovery Fund.
Progress during the period 01.05.2025.–31.07.2025.
  • 16 July 2025: consultation with suppliers No. RSU 2025/143/AK_AP Purchase of spectral cell sorting equipment was launched. The consultation period ended on 30 July 2025.
  • 11 May 2025: procurement No. RSU 2025/61/AK Purchase of various radiation measuring equipment was launched. On 29 May 2025 bids were opened.
