Objective

Students should be taught the basics of Pilates theory, explain anatomical, physiological aspects of Pilates method impact, teach Pilates exercises, Pilates class program building principles and basic principles for conducting these classes, and develop understanding of Pilates integration into health sport (fitness) programmes.

Prerequisites

Anatomy, physiology, basics of exercise and terminology, sports training theory, pedagogy.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Knows Pilates’ theory as a health sport (fitness) method and understands the effects of this technique on the body.

Skills

1.Students technically correctly perform Pilates mat exercises without equipment and with equipment.

Competence

1.Using today’s recommended methodology, students conduct a Pilates group mat class without or with small equipment.
