Ministry of Defence signs agreements with four research universities to strengthen research and innovation

On Wednesday, 12 November, the Ministry of Defence hosted a ceremonial signing of cooperation agreements between the Ministry and four research universities – Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), the University of Latvia, Riga Technical University, and the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies.
The signing of these agreements marks a significant step toward closer cooperation between the national defence sector and Latvian academic community, reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing science, research, and innovation in support of national security.
The event was attended by Minister of Defence Andris Sprūds, as well as Aigars Pētersons, RSU Rector, Gundars Bērziņš, Rector of the University of Latvia, Tālis Juhna, Rector of Riga Technical University, and Irina Arhipova, Rector of the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies.
