Objective

The aim of the study course is to ensure an interim evaluation of the process of developing the diploma paper by examining the student’s ability to independently carry out research in the field of police work, structure the research, analyse the sources of rights and professional activity practices, as well as prepare for completion and defence of the diploma paper.

Prerequisites

All study courses of the study programme have been successfully acquired, as well as study papers and placement assignments have been fulfilled and defended in accordance with the requirements of the study programme.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Student:
1. is familiar with the basic principles of the methodology of research work;

2. understands the problems of law and practice in the field of police work;

3. understands the structure of the diploma paper, research methods and requirements for the development of the scientific paper.

Skills

1.Student:

1. formulate the purpose, objectives and research questions of the study;

2. analyse laws, regulations, case law and professional practice;

3. structure the study and prepare diploma theses;

4. present the results of the study in pre-defence.

Competence

1.Student:

1. organise and carry out research independently in the field of police work;

2. give reasoned reasons for its conclusions and proposals;

3. demonstrate the ability to critically analyse the results of the study and professional practice.
