On Thursday, 29 October, the annual BioPhoT conference will take place at the University of Latvia (UL) House of Science, bringing together researchers, entrepreneurs, industry representatives, investors and policymakers. The aim of the conference is to highlight the achievements and next development steps of the BioPhoT innovation project and discuss how to translate scientific excellence into innovations with global potential.
One of the central themes of the conference will be the path of technological development from the laboratory to the market, examining the key challenges and opportunities in technology commercialization.
At the BioPhoT conference, representatives of scientific institutions, knowledge-intensive and technology companies, as well as investment and policy experts, will meet in one place and share their mutual experience. The conference programme includes discussions on the achievements and insights of innovation projects supported by the BioPhoT platform, as well as on science and industry cooperation in Latvia. A special place at the conference will be reserved for an exposition of technologies developed by BioPhoT programme teams.
During two panel discussions at the conference, special attention will be paid to the key stages and challenges that researchers and teams face when transferring scientific ideas into industry and the market.
Visitors in person will be able to explore the prototypes developed so far within the framework of the platform's projects, their practical application and development potential, as well as learn about opportunities to establish cooperation with scientific teams. The programme also includes presentations by teams supported by BioPhoT on their achievements and future cooperation opportunities.
