The aim of this international conference is to present Ukraine’s experience in providing healthcare in conditions of a full-scale war and to assess its relevance to strengthening Latvia’s preparedness. The event will bring together Latvian and Ukrainian representatives from military medicine, healthcare and academic communities to share experiences, discuss current challenges and seek solutions to promote the resilience of the healthcare system in crisis situations.

Ukrainian military medicine and healthcare field experts will share their experience in organising surgical care, operating mobile hospitals, and coordinating military and civilian healthcare systems in crisis situations. The conference will also address reconstructive surgery for war injuries, health assessments for international mission participants, innovative medical triage methods, and simulation-based military medicine training.

The conference is intended for healthcare institution managers, representatives of military medicine services, emergency physicians, public administration officials, representatives of civil protection institutions and hospital administrations, disaster medicine and preparedness specialists, as well as policymakers. For professionals in these fields, the conference will provide a valuable opportunity to learn about Ukraine’s practical experience in organising healthcare during wartime, gain insights into strengthening the resilience of healthcare institutions and the healthcare system, as well as discuss cross-sectoral cooperation, and Latvia’s preparedness to respond to military threats and emergencies.
