Aim

The HEP-HOP project aims to reduce the burden of viral hepatitis infections (HBV and HCV) and their associated risk factors by promoting health and implementing targeted prevention strategies in risk groups, particularly among migrant and refugee populations in three European countries. The project’s objective is to improve awareness, early diagnosis, access to healthcare and health promotion measures, thereby reducing the spread of hepatitis and health inequalities in these communities.

Description

Within the HEP-HOP project, innovative health promotion and hepatitis prevention approaches will be developed and implemented tailored to the needs of migrant and refugee populations. These will include public awareness campaigns, targeted health education activities, risk reduction strategies, and support mechanisms to improve early detection of hepatitis and timely engagement in healthcare.

The project will be founded on evidence, international cooperation, and a community-based approach, collaborating with healthcare providers, government institutions, and non-governmental organisations in three key European countries. It will also promote the involvement of policymakers and stakeholders to ensure better integration and implementation of sustainable hepatitis prevention practices among target groups.
