About Study Course
Objective
The goal of course is learned to identified the role of non-invasive and invasive imaging of acute and chronic aortic and arteries occlusive /aneurysmal pathological conditions, venous surgical disorders. To discuss the indications for treatment and various options including medical management, open surgery(including approaches) and endovascular techniques; the venous acute thrombosis, PATE and overall patient survival.
Learning outcomes
1.To define the normal arterial and venous anatomy of circulation. To describe the mechanism of vascular injury and sequel there of to the upper extremity, thoracic aorta, abdominal aorta and its branches, and lower extremities. To discuss the indications for screening, imaging, the role of non-invasive and invasive imaging.
1.To describe the characteristic signs and symptoms of acute vascular (arterial and venous) compromise secondary to trauma, and associated fractures and neurological injuries.
1.To realize the diagnostic and treatment protocol of acute vascular ischaemia, trauma, abdominal aortic aneurysm rupture. To develop a management plan for patients with a multifocal arterial occlusive disease and internal carotid artery disease.
