Objective

The aim of the course is to develop basic academic skills necessary for students to study psychology by developing information literacy, academic writing, academic integrity, critical evaluation of scientific sources of psychology, understanding of basic principles of research ethics and data protection, as well as socio-psychological skills for effective cooperation and building a safe learning environment.

Prerequisites

Skills acquired at secondary level in Latvian, English, mathematics, social sciences and computing

Knowledge

1.Defines basic concepts of psychology studies and structural components of academic text.

Skills

1.Perform a targeted literature search and document the search strategy (keywords, operators, filters).

Competence

1.Observe the principles of academic integrity, ethics and data protection in all study papers by responsibly handling sources and sensitive information.
