Objective

To familiarise students with video editing programmes, principles and techniques, as well as terminology. An insight into the origins of occurrence of the theory of editing. When providing an insight into the audiovisual media post-processing stage, the creation of narrative, the most important elements of creation of images and sound and their interaction, composition of the image and digital editing.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.To recognise and analyse the use of editing principles and laws.
To develop the plan of shots and to prepare documentation of filming locations.
To determine and justify the factors affecting the quality of image, sound and lighting.
To analyse and discuss video post-processing phase stages.
To know the principles of operation of a non-linear editing programmes.

Skills

1.To practically use to use theoretical knowledge on video editing.
To independently devise, plan and implement audiovisual works.
To use editing techniques corresponding to the idea.
To create technical qualitative video.

1.To critically evaluate available resources for the implementation of an audiovisual project.
Self-critical analysis and selection of a filmed material.
Justified selection of editing techniques corresponding to the message.
