About Study Course
Objective
The study course is designed for medical residents to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge on surgical methods of treatment of chronic and acute cardiovascular diseases – coronary artery bypass grafting, surgery of acquired and congenital heart diseases, creation of ventricular assist devices, heart transplantation, etc.
Learning outcomes
1.- understanding of the nature of cardiac surgery methods and hybrid methods,
- knowledge of the indications, contraindications, advantages and disadvantages of cardiac surgery methods, proper patient preparation, possible complications of surgery,
- understanding of timely prevention and treatment of complications.
1.- to recognise the indications for surgical and hybrid methods of treatment of chronic and acute cardiac pathology;
- to recognise late complications after surgical and hybrid methods.
1.- to formulate indications for the treatment of chronic and acute cardiac pathology with surgical and hybrid methods and to organise appropriate treatment process in specific clinical cases,
- to organise appropriate treatment process for late complications after surgical and hybrid methods.
