Objective

To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in clinical forensic medicine, in accordance with the requirements of the regulations of the specialty of forensic medicine experts, in order to prepare the doctor for certification in the specialty of forensic medicine expert and independent work, in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Republic of Lithuania.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.To understand any of the types of forensic medical examinations of living persons and the examination of medical documents.

Skills

1.Carry out forensic medical examination of living persons using approved methodology, instruments, remove and send objects for laboratory examination, conduct research of medical documents, compile and present research results in the form of an expert opinion.

Competence

1.Competence acquired during studies to independently perform forensic medical examinations of living persons, medical documents and physical evidence, ability to perform the actions intended for a forensic medical expert in criminal proceedings, civil proceedings or administrative proceedings, acquired prior knowledge and skills for performing scientific-research and pedagogical work, abilities to continue further education and introduce innovations at work, mastered the code of ethics of a doctor and forensic expert, the ability to communicate with patients, specialists and the public, as well as to provide emergency medical assistance.
