Objective

The aim of the course is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the cultural and social significance of teeth and the smile throughout human history by analyzing their visual representation in art, aesthetic concepts, and the development of professional practice.

Knowledge

1.Knows and is able to analyze the visual representations of teeth and the smile in art and culture, understanding their cultural-historical and aesthetic significance. Gains knowledge of how cultural, social, and symbolic factors have influenced the development of the dental profession and contemporary aesthetic standards.

Skills

1.Is able to analytically interpret visual and textual materials related to teeth and the smile in art, culture, and the history of dentistry. Can critically evaluate aesthetic ideals and the influence of cultural norms on dental practice and patient perceptions.

1.Integrate interdisciplinary knowledge in professional practice and patient communication.
